Ss: Yes. I do. T: Have you read Little Women? S1: Yes, I have. / No, I haven’t. Step 2 presentation (1a) 1. T: I like reading books. Here are some books that I have read. Teach the names of books. Alice in Wonderland Treasure Island Robinson Crusoe Little Women Oliver Twist Tom Sawyer 2. Ss read and learn. 3. Let Ss check the ones they know in 1a , then make conversations like: A: Have you read …? B: Yes, I have. A: What’s it like? B: It’s interesting/ exciting /…. Step 3 Listening (1b) 1. Let Ss read the chart first. Then play the tape for the Ss to listen and write down the three books. 2. Play the tape again and check if they have read the books and what they think of them. 3. Check the answers. Ask Ss to read their answers in this way: Nick hasn’t reasure land, but Judy has read it. She thinks it’s …. Step 3 Practice (1c) 1. Step 4 Listening (2a, 2b) 1. Let Ss watch thure in 1c and guess what these books are mainly about. Play the tape for the Ss to listen and check Mark or Tina. 2. Give Sstime to read the sentences in 2b, explain if necessary. Then Ss listen and write T or F. 3. Listen again and check the answers. Step 5 Pairwork 1. Let a pair to read the conversation in 2c to the class. 2. Ask Ss to talk about the books according to the information in 2a and 2b. Step 6 Sum up Let Ss sum up what they have learned this class.
