Honestly, I barely know someone who is a frequent traveler by plane, however, a few months ago, while I was attending a career seminar for graduating university students in our school,I met and personally talked with one of the most valuable speakers of that seminar. His name is Reynolds and he works in one of the biggest consumer goods company in the world. He is a Global Brand Manager and is based in New South Wales, Australia, as far as I can remember.
Well, our university traditionally hosts a once-in-a-year and the largest job seminar in our city and usually invites various local and international companies to promote their company to students and invite them to give a shot in applying to their respective companies.
As I was one of the members of a student organization in that university, I had a chance to talk with Mr. Reynolds, I learned that, he traveled for more than 50 times a year visiting his company’s subsidiaries in Asia Pacific Region to spearhead the launching of their new products from time to time. He also conducts some workshops about branding to workers, and deliver several speeches to different institutions especially universities like ours.
Anyway, after that seminar, we had a casual talk and he shared some of his wonderful experiences being a worker and at the same time a traveler. He said that he did really love his job since he had a lot of opportunities to visit different countries, and it helped him broaden his perspective on life through learning and experiencing a wide array of cultures. Unfortunately, our conversation was shortly interrupted since he got a phone call but he left me with a valuable piece of advice and that’s to find a job that would help me grow professionally and at the same time make me happy.
